Are Dark or Light Jeans on Trend for 2027?

My Light-Denim Disaster (And What It Taught Me)

Sun-bleached indigo — a pale blue that looks like it faded naturally in the sun, rather than in a chemical vat. Warm, not cold.
Ecru and off-white — the undyed, natural end of the spectrum, often shown as matching shirt-and-trouser sets.

Luxury

Victoria Beckham — sharper, more polished dark washes that genuinely move into evening.

The Sizing Trap With Washes

Here's the bit that catches people out: the same style in a different wash often fits differently. Dark rinse washes go through short, gentle finishing that barely touches the fabric, so they come out closer to their cut size and stay firm. Light washes go through long, high-intensity cycles that soften and relax the fabric — so the same pair can end up looser through the waist and thigh, and give more as you wear them.

Which means the size that fits you perfectly in indigo may be too generous in the bleached version of the identical jean. Check the wash before you reorder in your usual size.
