FFORME Sizing: What Size Should You Order?

Author: Stylist at TellarDate: 2026

FFORME runs true to size in its European numeric system — if you're a UK 12, you'll want an EU 40, and generally that's exactly right. But there are a handful of nuances worth knowing before you drop the best part of £1,000 on a bias-cut silk dress.

I'll be honest — I came across FFORME on a deep-dive session for this very post, and I was immediately struck by just how considered the whole thing feels. Founded in New York in 2021 and produced in Italy by multi-generational artisan makers, this is luxury with intention. Think sculptural columns, hammered satin, beautifully weighted knitwear. It's the kind of wardrobe that doesn't shout but absolutely commands a room. The silhouettes are clean, the proportions are precise — which makes getting the size right genuinely important.

How Does FFORME Size Its Clothes?

FFORME uses two different sizing approaches depending on the garment type:

  • European numeric sizing (EU 38–46) — used for tailored pieces, woven dresses, trousers, structured jackets, and blouses

  • Alpha sizing (XS–L) — used for knitwear and more relaxed, draped shapes

The brand describes its pieces as being designed for ease, and that comes through in the fit — there's a quiet generosity to the cuts rather than anything body-con or aggressively fitted. The clothes move with you. That said, the tailored pieces in particular are precision-cut, so measuring up properly before ordering is absolutely worth doing.

FFORME Size Conversion Chart

Here's how the European sizing translates across to UK and US equivalents:

One thing FFORME does that I genuinely appreciate — and that not enough luxury brands bother with — is publishing actual garment measurements on every individual product page. So rather than just trusting a size label, you can compare the specific dress or trouser measurements directly against your body. I always recommend doing this with luxury purchases. It's the difference between a return and a keeper.

The Size Range Is Limited — Act Quickly

This is worth flagging: FFORME produces in small, often limited quantities, and most styles only come in three to four sizes. Scrolling through their current collection, it's common to find pieces listed as a single remaining size. If something speaks to you, don't sit on it. The Maisie sculpted column dress, the bias-cut Mila, the Winslow double-breasted jacket — these are not restocked the way high street pieces are. This is considered, craft-led production with all the scarcity that comes with it.

Knitwear: The Alpha Sizing Approach

For the knitwear pieces — and FFORME does some genuinely beautiful knitwear — the brand switches to XS, S, M, L sizing. These tend to have a slightly more relaxed, sculpted fit. The Sorcha fringed knit dress, for instance, runs XS–M, and the Loletta boyfriend sweater goes XS–L. My advice here: if you're between sizes, go with your usual fit. The pieces aren't oversized in the slouchy sense, but they do have enough ease that you won't need to size up unless you have a broader frame.

A Note for UK Shoppers

Post Image

FFORME is a US-based brand and currently ships domestically within America as standard. For international orders — including the UK — you'll need to reach out to them directly via their concierge service at concierge@fforme.com. It's not as seamless as clicking "add to basket" on ASOS, clearly, but it is very much worth the extra step for the right piece. They also stock via Nordstrom in the US for those travelling or ordering through a US address.

They also offer personal stylist appointments (again via the concierge email) specifically to help with fit and sizing — which is a rather lovely touch for a brand at this price point. Honestly, use it. A £1,500 dress deserves a proper conversation.

Styling FFORME: Who Is This Brand For?

In my experience, FFORME is for the woman who has moved past trend-chasing and is building something more lasting in her wardrobe. The shapes are sculptural without being theatrical. The colour palette — blacks, creams, ink blues, oxblood, moss greens — is quietly confident. Pieces like the Emi hammered satin draped dress or the Cameron slim trouser are genuinely investment items that will earn their cost-per-wear over years. That said, because the cuts are precise and architectural, fit really does matter here more than it might at a more casual brand. Get the size right and these pieces are extraordinary. Get it wrong and they'll look off in a way that's hard to pin down but impossible to ignore.

More Affordable Alternatives to FFORME

If the price point is a stretch right now (and at $900–$3,000 per piece, that's entirely reasonable), here are some brilliant alternatives across every budget that share that same sensibility of considered, elevated dressing:

High street picks:

  • Reiss — the closest high street match for FFORME's clean tailoring and sculptural silhouettes. Their dresses and trousers are consistently well-cut.

  • Whistles — reliably elegant and often overlooked. Great for bias-cut pieces and structured blazers at a sensible price point.

  • Me+Em — British brand doing brilliant things with luxury fabrics at premium-but-not-designer prices. Excellent for trousers and sculpted tops.

  • Jigsaw — lovely quality for knitwear and structured woven pieces. Shares FFORME's more timeless approach to design.

  • LK Bennett — particularly strong for occasion pieces and tailored dresses that bring some of that same column-dress energy.

  • Hobbs — underrated for quality and fit. Their tailoring punches well above its price point and sizes tend to be consistent.

  • Massimo Dutti — for that European clean-line aesthetic, Massimo Dutti is genuinely excellent. The suiting and trousers in particular are well worth exploring.

  • COS — the brand that most consistently nails sculptural minimalism at an accessible price. If you love FFORME's shapes, COS should already be in your rotation.

  • Phase Eight — particularly good for occasion dresses and beautifully draped silk-feel pieces. Sizes are generous and consistent.

Two independent brands worth discovering:

  • Kitri — a London-based independent with a strong point of view on elegant, sculptural womenswear. Limited runs, direct-to-consumer, excellent quality for the price. If you haven't discovered them yet, you're in for a treat.

  • Esmé Studios — a Danish label doing incredibly beautiful, understated minimalism. Their dresses and wide-leg trousers have that same quiet confidence as FFORME at a fraction of the cost.
