How to Find Your Size in Azura Exchange

Azura Exchange sizes true to standard UK sizing, but because almost everything they make is floaty, draped, or elasticated resort wear, the fit is generally forgiving — and if you're between sizes, going down is usually the right call. That said, their sizing does vary noticeably between styles, so read on before you click buy.

So What Exactly Is Azura Exchange?

If you haven't come across Azura Exchange yet, prepare to lose an entire afternoon to their website. It's a Brighton-based brand specialising in vibrant, print-heavy resort wear — think bold kaftans, wide-leg linen trousers, off-shoulder maxi dresses, and embellished cover-ups. The kind of pieces that look expensive on a sun lounger and genuinely hold their own when you factor in the price per wear. I first discovered them when I was styling a client for a fortieth birthday trip to Mykonos and needed something that felt luxurious but wasn't designer-budget. Azura delivered on every count.

Their audience tends to be women who want occasion-worthy holiday dressing — not the disposable beach cover-up from the supermarket, but a proper piece you'll reach for on rooftop dinners, boat trips, and long lunches abroad. The aesthetic is vibrant, occasionally maximalist, and unashamedly glamorous. If that's your energy, you're in the right place.

How Does Azura Exchange Sizing Work?

Azura Exchange uses standard UK sizing across their range, running from approximately UK 8 to UK 22+, which is genuinely brilliant — inclusive sizing done properly and without relegating larger sizes to a separate, limited edit. Their size guide is based on bust, waist, and hip measurements, and I'd always recommend measuring yourself before ordering rather than relying on your usual size elsewhere.

Here's the general guide to their size range:

  • UK 8 (XS) — Bust 32", Waist 25", Hip 35"

  • UK 10 (S) — Bust 34", Waist 27", Hip 37"

  • UK 12 (M) — Bust 36", Waist 29", Hip 39"

  • UK 14 (L) — Bust 38", Waist 31", Hip 41"

  • UK 16 (XL) — Bust 40", Waist 33", Hip 43"

  • UK 18–22 — Extended sizes with generous, relaxed cuts throughout

Because so much of their range features elasticated waists, drawstring ties, or wrap silhouettes, the sizing tends to be quite accommodating across a range of proportions. But that doesn't mean anything goes — there are a few category-specific things worth knowing.

Category by Category: What to Expect

Kaftans & Cover-Ups

This is Azura's sweet spot, and the fit is intentionally generous. Most kaftans are designed to skim the body rather than cling, so sizing down is often the right move if you want the piece to feel elegant rather than swamping. A UK 12 client of mine consistently orders a UK 10 in their longer kaftan styles and the result is always spot-on. If you're petite, particularly watch the length — some styles are genuinely maxi, and alterations can be tricky with such heavily printed fabric.

Maxi Dresses

Their maxi dresses are some of their most popular pieces and, in my experience, size quite true. Where there's an elasticated bodice or smocked detail, you've got more flexibility — where there's a fixed or structured bodice, stick closely to your measurements. I'd particularly check the bust measurement on strapless and bardot styles, as these can come up slightly small across the chest even if the rest of the dress fits well.

Trousers & Wide-Leg Styles

Post Image

Azura's wide-leg linen and palazzo trousers are a holiday wardrobe essential and generally size true. The waists are almost universally elasticated, which gives a lot of room to manoeuvre. For shorter women, do check the inseam — these are cut long by design, and most styles will need a hem on a petite frame. I've seen them styled beautifully with the excess fabric pooling slightly at the ankle, but that only works if you're going barefoot or with flat sandals.

Tops & Blouses

More variation here. Their off-shoulder tops and embellished blouses can come up slightly smaller, particularly if you're fuller in the bust — always check the bust measurement carefully and if you're between sizes, go up. Their looser, tunic-style tops are more forgiving and can generally be sized down.

How to Measure Yourself for Azura Exchange

It takes two minutes and saves a return. Grab a soft measuring tape and note down:

  • Bust — measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor

  • Waist — your natural waist, which is the narrowest point of your torso (usually a few inches above your belly button)

  • Hips — the fullest part of your hips, roughly 20cm below your waist

Cross-reference all three measurements with the Azura size chart rather than relying on just one figure. Because their styles drape differently, if your hip measurement puts you in a larger size than your waist, always go with the hip measurement as your guide and use a belt or tie if the waist is slightly loose.

Azura Exchange Alternatives — From High Street to Designer

Azura Exchange sits at a mid-point price-wise — their pieces aren't cheap, but they're far from designer. If you're after a similar resort-luxe aesthetic at different budgets, here's where I'd look:

High street & mid-market picks for holiday dressing:

  • Anthropologie — genuinely excellent for bold prints and floaty maxi dresses with a boho-luxe feel; their sizing is similar to Azura in its generosity

  • Monsoon — a British holiday wardrobe staple; brilliant embellishment, vibrant prints, and inclusive sizing done well

  • Zara — for a more editorial take on resort dressing; their printed linen sets and draped dresses punch well above their price point

  • Mango — consistently strong on Mediterranean-influenced resort pieces; their linen wide-leg trousers are a perennial sell-out for good reason

  • Jigsaw — more understated than Azura but beautifully made; great for the woman who wants holiday dressing that works at home too

  • Phase Eight — especially good for occasion-led holiday pieces; their printed maxi dresses rival Azura for impact

  • Oliver Bonas — often overlooked for holiday wear but genuinely brilliant; vibrant prints, flattering cuts, and affordable prices

Two independent labels I always come back to:

  • Savannah Morrow — a sustainability-focused label making the most exquisite handmade resort wear from natural fibres; if Azura Exchange is your aesthetic and you want to spend a little more on something truly special and responsibly made, this is it

  • Devotion Twins — a Greek label making resort pieces with real artisan quality; their embroidered dresses and linen separates are utterly beautiful and genuinely hard to find on the UK high street, which makes wearing them feel all the more exciting
