InWear Sizing Guide: What Size Am I in InWear?

InWear runs broadly true to size — but the brand's slim Scandinavian cut means you'll often need to size up if you're anything other than a lean, straight frame, particularly in tailored pieces. I say this from experience: I ordered a gorgeous InWear blazer in my usual size and spent five minutes trying to do up the buttons before admitting defeat. The EU sizing adds an extra layer of confusion for UK shoppers, so let's unpick exactly what you need to know before you click buy.
The EU Sizing Issue
InWear is a Danish brand and sizes in EU numbers — 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44. If you're not used to shopping European brands, this alone can trip you up. Here's the quick conversion:

This is a good starting point — but it's the cut, not just the number, where InWear gets complicated.
How InWear Fits Across Categories
I've styled a lot of Scandinavian brands and they share a common trait: the silhouette is designed for a lean, relatively straight figure. InWear is no different. The sizing isn't wildly off, but the cut does favour narrower shoulders, slimmer hips and a less defined waist. Here's what to expect by category:
Blazers & structured jackets – These are cut slim through the shoulders and chest. If you're broader across the back or plan to layer a thick knit underneath, go up one size. The tailoring is beautiful but it's not generous.
Trousers – Generally accurate to the size chart, but the hip and thigh profile runs narrow. If you carry more volume through the hips or thighs, size up. The waistband can also feel snug even when the hips fit, so don't assume the measurements are enough on their own.
Dresses – This is where it gets inconsistent. Shift styles and relaxed shirt dresses tend to be quite forgiving — I've found these run slightly generous, if anything. Structured dresses with darts or zip fastenings are a different story: they can be snug through the bust, and some long-sleeved styles are narrow in the arm. If you're fuller-chested, always size up in fitted styles.
Knitwear & tops – These tend to be the most forgiving. Stick to your size unless you prefer an oversized fit, in which case, size up one.
My Honest Fit Advice

I always tell clients shopping Scandinavian brands: measure your bust and hips before you buy anything tailored. Don't just go off what you wear in a British high street brand, because the ease allowance is simply different. InWear's pieces are genuinely beautiful — the fabric quality is above average and the styling is effortlessly polished. But there's nothing more dispiriting than a perfect-looking blazer that won't close. Take thirty seconds to check your measurements and it'll save you a return.
One more thing worth knowing: if you're buying a co-ord or a matching suit, your top and bottom size may differ. That's completely normal with InWear — size for the piece, not the matching set.
If InWear Doesn't Quite Fit Your Budget (or Your Body Shape)
InWear sits at the premium end of the market, and if the sizing doesn't work for you or you want to try similar aesthetics at different price points, here's where I'd send my clients:
COS – The closest match to InWear's Scandinavian minimalism. Clean lines, structured tailoring, excellent quality and more generous sizing through the body.
Jigsaw – A brilliant British equivalent for polished, modern workwear. Their tailoring fits a wider range of body shapes and the quality is outstanding.
Whistles – Particularly good for structured blazers and smart trousers. More inclusive in cut than InWear, with a very similar elevated aesthetic.
Reiss – For occasion-worthy tailoring and sophisticated dresses. Their size range is generous and the fit is reliable.
Me&Em – My go-to recommendation for women who want smart, polished dressing that actually fits a real body. Excellent for curvier frames.
Massimo Dutti – Spanish brand with a very similar elevated minimalism to InWear. Quality fabrics, sleek silhouettes and slightly more relaxed sizing.
Part Two – Another Danish brand, actually — wearable, beautifully made and with a slightly more relaxed cut than InWear. One of my best-kept secrets for Scandi style.
Mint Velvet – Great for dresses and smart casual dressing, with wider sizing and a very wearable approach to modern elegance.
For something a little more independent, I'd also look at Noa Noa — a Danish brand with a softer, more relaxed take on Scandi style, often at a slightly lower price point than InWear. And Beaumont Organic is a brilliant British sustainable label that delivers clean, contemporary tailoring with the kind of considered quality InWear shoppers tend to appreciate.
