What Is Sizing Like at AGOLDE?

AGOLDE men's jeans are sized by waist in inches — the classic 28, 30, 32, 34, 36 run — rather than a small/medium/large system. That's good news, because it means you're buying to a real measurement rather than guessing at a letter. The thing that trips men up isn't the number on the waistband, it's the fabric and the silhouette, which vary a lot across the range.

The waist runs true — trust your tape

Order your measured waist. Wrap a tape around where the waistband will actually sit and take that number. AGOLDE doesn't do vanity sizing, so a 32 is a genuine 32.
Mind the rigid cotton. A big chunk of the range is 100% non-stretch cotton. Rigid denim feels firm — almost too snug — for the first two or three wears, then relaxes by roughly half a size as it moulds to you. If a rigid pair feels perfect in the shop, it'll be slightly loose in a fortnight.

Slater Trouser — the smart, non-denim option. Cut cleaner through the leg; true to size with a bit of a drape.

I learned the leg lesson the hard way. My first pair of vintage-cut American denim, I sized up because I assumed rigid cotton would shrink me. Wrong. Two washes later I was cinching a belt like a bin bag. Buy the waist you are, respect the cut, and let the cotton do its job.

A note for UK frames

These are Los Angeles jeans, cut long. The inseams run generous, which is deliberate — they're meant to stack slightly over a trainer or be cuffed once. If you're 5'9" or under, budget for a quick hem at the tailor. It's a tenner well spent and it's the single biggest upgrade you can make to how a premium jean looks on you.

Nudie Jeans — Swedish, dry-denim specialists with free repairs for life. Their sizing is genuinely true, and if you've loved breaking in an AGOLDE rigid pair, Nudie's raw stuff is the obvious next chapter.

Designer & luxury

Acne Studios — the label practically started with a run of raw denim, and it shows. Fits skew directional and a little slimmer than AGOLDE, so size up if you want the same relaxed drape.
Frame — another LA denim house in AGOLDE's exact orbit, if a touch more polished. Comparable rise and leg; take your AGOLDE size straight across.
Saint Laurent — the top of the tree for a rock-and-roll straight leg. Cut properly slim and short, so this is the one place I'd size up from your AGOLDE waist and factor in a hem.
