What Is Sizing Like at AllSaints?

AllSaints cuts small and close to the body across almost the entire range. Their whole aesthetic is built on a lean, slightly elongated silhouette — narrow through the chest, trim through the waist, with sleeves and hems that sit on the longer side. That's a deliberate design choice, not an accident, and it's why the clothes look so good on a mannequin and so tight on a man who ordered his normal size.

For most blokes, the brand sits roughly half a size to a full size smaller than the high street average. If you're a true medium at M&S or Next, you'll often want a large here.

How it fits, piece by piece

T-shirts and jersey tops

This is where the slim cut bites hardest. AllSaints tees are cut narrow through the body and noticeably short in the hem — that cropped-ish length is part of the brand signature. The fabric is lovely, soft pima and slubby cottons, but there's very little give.

Size up one if you want a relaxed fit or you're broader through the shoulders.
Stick to your size only if you genuinely want it body-skimming.
Watch the length — these are designed to sit at the hip, not cover it.

Leather and biker jackets

The famous one. AllSaints leather — the Cargo biker especially — is cut extremely lean through the chest and shoulders, with long, slim sleeves designed to be worn slightly pushed up. New leather has almost no stretch, so it can feel like a corset on day one.

Most men should size up at least once, sometimes twice if they're muscular through the back.
Remember leather softens and moulds with wear — but it never widens dramatically, so don't buy on the hope it'll "give" across the chest.
Check you can layer a thin knit underneath; a biker that only fits over a tee isn't much use in a British winter.

Knitwear and overshirts

More forgiving, but still trim. Their crew and roll-necks have a tailored line through the torso, and the overshirts (a brilliant transitional layer) are cut closer than the loose, boxy versions you'll find elsewhere right now.

Trousers and denim

Sized in waist inches, which helps, but the rise tends to be lower and the leg slimmer than mainstream high-street denim. If you're between a tapered and a straight leg elsewhere, expect AllSaints to feel like the tapered.

My honest fitting tips before you buy

Measure your chest and waist properly with a soft tape — don't trust the size you "always are".
Treat leather as its own category. Whatever you take in a tee, expect to go up again for a jacket.
Think about layering. AllSaints looks best layered, so leave room for it.
Returns are easier online, so if you're between sizes, order both and send one back rather than gambling in store.

How I'd style it (and what's on trend)

The mistake I see most is people going full head-to-toe AllSaints and ending up looking like a moody album cover. The brand works best as the statement layer over quieter pieces. A black biker over a plain ecru tee, straight indigo jeans and clean leather boots is the uniform — and it's bang on trend right now as the wider menswear mood moves away from oversized everything and back toward a sharper, leaner line. A charcoal overshirt thrown over a fine-gauge knit is my current go-to for that smart-casual middle ground every man seems to be chasing.

High street

Reiss — the closest mainstream match for that sharp, slightly dressy AllSaints energy, but with a touch more room through the chest. Brilliant tailoring and knitwear for the money.
COS — if you find AllSaints too fitted, COS offers a cleaner, more relaxed minimalism with consistent, generous sizing. Superb for understated basics.
Arket — Scandi, sensibly cut and built to last. My first port of call for honest mid-weight knits and well-proportioned trousers.

Belstaff — if it's the leather and biker heritage you're truly after, this is the grown-up, heirloom-quality version. Cut a little more generously, too.
AMI Paris — that lean, dark, slightly Parisian line AllSaints flirts with, done at the top end with impeccable knitwear.
