What Is Sizing Like at Deiji Studios?
Author: Stylist at TellarDate: 2026
Deiji Studios runs true to size, but with a deliberately relaxed, slightly oversized cut. If you want the soft, slouchy silhouette the brand is famous for, take your usual UK size and don't overthink it. Want something that sits a little closer to the body? Size down one. And if you're after that full, cocoon-yourself-in-linen feel, size up. As an Australian label, Deiji lists its charts in AU sizing, which sits very close to UK numbers — so a UK 8 maps neatly to their S, a UK 10 to their M, and so on. No mental gymnastics required.
I've styled a lot of clients into linen over the years, and Deiji is one of the few brands where I genuinely don't have to talk anyone out of their instinct. The fit is forgiving in the best way. Below is everything I've learned about getting it right.
How Deiji Studios Actually Fits
Founded in Byron Bay in 2016, Deiji built its name on stonewashed French linen and organic cotton, cut for ease rather than structure. That word — ease — is the whole philosophy. Nothing here is tailored or body-conforming. You'll have room through the shoulders, chest and hips, which is exactly the point. It's loungewear that's quietly graduated into ready-to-wear.
A few fit notes worth knowing before you order:
True to size = the intended look. The relaxed, lived-in drape you see on their site is what you get at your normal size.
Size down for definition. If you're petite or prefer a neater line, dropping a size stops the linen from swamping you — particularly on the shorter tops.
Sets use combined sizing. Sets and outerwear come in XXS, XS, SM, ML and XL rather than single sizes, so they're cut generously to span two body sizes. If you're between, the smaller band usually wins.
Check the garment page, not just the chart. Deiji say it themselves — fit varies by style, so the individual product measurements are your most reliable guide.
My honest fail here: years ago, on a different Byron-Bay linen brand, I bought a "one size" robe convinced oversized meant flattering. It did not. I looked like I was wearing a duvet to brunch. The lesson stuck — with relaxed linen, you still want one reference point on your own body, whether that's a bust or a hip measurement, before you commit.
Which Pieces to Trust
The cult buys — the Ease Trouser, the linen Tab Pant, the Seam Top and the lounge sets — are where Deiji's fit is most consistent. The trousers in particular have a beautiful high, relaxed rise that genuinely suits most shapes. The robes run very generous, so if you're between, the smaller option is plenty.
Where Else to Shop the Relaxed-Linen Look

If you love the Deiji aesthetic but want more price points and silhouettes to play with, here's where I send clients chasing that same effortless, natural-fibre wardrobe.
High Street
COS — the closest high-street match for Deiji's pared-back, architectural linen. Brilliant for relaxed trousers and boxy tops.
Uniqlo — their premium linen range is unbeatable value and cut with a similar easy drape.
Massimo Dutti — elevated linen separates with a grown-up, considered finish.
Hush — does the loungewear-to-leaving-the-house thing beautifully, with soft linen sets.
The White Company — go-to for linen loungewear and nightwear in calm, neutral palettes.
Mango — consistently nails the linen co-ord at a friendly price.
Seasalt Cornwall — relaxed, natural-fibre pieces with a coastal ease that sits right alongside Deiji.
Marks & Spencer — quietly excellent linen-blend trousers and relaxed shirting each summer.
Premium
Me+Em — considered, slightly elevated tailoring with that same intentional looseness.
Mint Velvet — relaxed-luxe separates designed to layer and lounge.
Jigsaw — grown-up linen with a softly minimalist hand.
Luxury & Designer
Toteme — Scandi minimalism at its most refined; the relaxed-linen wardrobe done immaculately.
The Row — the gold standard for quiet, oversized luxury in natural fibres.
Max Mara — for linen tailoring with proper heritage and beautiful drape.
Two Independents Worth Knowing
Cawley — a small London label making hand-finished linen with a real artisanal soul.
Pyne & Smith — Californian button-through linen dresses, cut roomy and made to live in.
