What Is Sizing Like at EDikted?

BRAND SIZING GUIDE

BY ELLA BLAKE — FASHION STYLIST  |  TELLAR FASHION HUB — ALWAYS HONEST, UNBIASED & UNSPONSORED

EDikted generally runs true to size — but here's the honest caveat: it very much depends on which category you're shopping. Tops and fitted pieces tend to come up small, while the brand's bestselling denim and bottoms can run slightly large. I've had brilliant EDikted finds and I've had moments of standing in my bedroom genuinely baffled by why a medium felt like an extra small. The good news? Once you know how to shop it, it's an absolute treasure trove.

EDikted is a digital-first womenswear brand that's built its reputation on Gen Z and millennial-friendly Y2K aesthetics — think low-rise jeans, cut-out tops, faux leather, corsets and festival-ready co-ords. It's very much the brand you discover scrolling TikTok at midnight and end up adding six things to your basket. The price point is genuinely affordable, with most pieces sitting well under £50, which makes it perfect for trying out trends without committing a fortune.

Tops & Going-Out Pieces: Size Up

This is the category where EDikted's sizing quirk is most noticeable. The brand's going-out tops, corsets, bodysuits and fitted shirts tend to cut small, particularly across the bust and shoulders. If you're usually a medium and you're eyeing one of their cropped or structured tops, I'd strongly recommend sizing to a large. The stretch factor matters too — polyester and spandex blends will give you more room to breathe than their occasional cotton styles.

  • Corset tops and structured bodysuits: go up at least one size

  • Stretchy jersey and ribbed tops: generally more forgiving, true to size works for most

  • Graphic and printed cotton tops: size up if you prefer a relaxed rather than cropped fit

  • Sheer and mesh styles: these often have a built-in fitted cut — size up for comfort

I remember ordering a satin-look corset top in my usual medium and nearly sending it straight back. It fit, but only just — and that wasn't the look I was going for. Lesson learned: EDikted tops are often designed to be worn fitted, so if you want the style to feel intentional rather than tight, just go up.

Denim & Bottoms: The Brand's Strongest Category

Here's where EDikted genuinely shines. Their denim — particularly the low-rise, wide-leg and Y2K-inspired styles that have become synonymous with the brand — is often 100% cotton and punches well above its price point in terms of feel and structure. Multiple reviewers, myself included, have been pleasantly surprised by how good the jeans are. The Raelynn Washed Low Rise style in particular is practically a cult piece on TikTok, and rightly so.

  • Jeans: true to size for most, but size up one if you're curvier through the hip and thigh

  • Wide-leg and baggy styles: generally true to size — the relaxed cut gives natural movement

  • Skirts: true to size or slightly large — check waist measurements before ordering

  • Shorts: can run slightly large, particularly through the hips

Ella's TipAlways check EDikted's specific garment measurements rather than just relying on the size label. Their individual product pages include bust, waist and hip measurements — and given the inconsistencies between categories, it's the most reliable way to get the fit right first time.

Dresses: Mostly True to Size

EDikted's dresses are probably the most consistent category for fit. Mini dresses and bodycon styles tend to land true to size, though I'd caveat that sheerer, less structured styles can occasionally pull small across the chest. If a dress has a fitted bodice and a defined waist, treat it like the tops and consider sizing up. For more relaxed, floaty styles, go with your usual size and you should be fine.

One thing worth noting: some of EDikted's more lightweight dresses are quite sheer, so check the product description carefully. A nude underlayer or a good set of stick-on cups is your best friend here — I speak from experience after a slightly breezy afternoon in a cream number that I was sure was lined. It was not.

Outerwear & Jackets: Manage Your Expectations

Post Image

This is the one category where EDikted's quality falls slightly short. Jackets and coats tend to be on the thinner side, with a fast-fashion feel that doesn't quite match the better quality of their denim or knitwear. Sizing is generally true, but the construction isn't built for longevity in the same way a dressier piece might be. Great for a seasonal trend piece, less so if you're looking for investment outerwear.

Sizing in Summary

  • Tops, corsets and structured pieces — size up one, always

  • Jeans and bottoms — true to size, or up one if curvaceous through the hips

  • Dresses — true to size in most styles; size up for fitted bodices

  • Outerwear — true to size but quality is hit and miss

  • Between sizes? Always go up at EDikted — their cuts favour a closer fit

If You Love EDikted's Aesthetic — Shop These Too

EDikted fills a specific niche: affordable, Y2K-influenced, trend-led womenswear. But if you're shopping for similar pieces at varying price points — or want something with a touch more longevity — here's where I'd send you.

HIGH STREET ALTERNATIVES

  • Urban Outfitters — The closest match to EDikted's aesthetic on the high street. Their denim in particular is brilliant for low-rise and relaxed Y2K-inspired styles, and sizing tends to be more consistent than EDikted's.

  • Topshop (via ASOS) — The original pioneer of affordable Y2K denim. Their wide-leg and low-rise jeans are perennially brilliant, and they go up to a size 26.

  • River Island — Excellent for going-out tops, faux leather pieces and co-ords at a comparable price point. Sizing is generally generous and reliable across categories.

  • ASOS — The sheer breadth of choice here means you'll always find an EDikted-adjacent piece. Look at their own-brand Design label for corsets, cut-outs and party dresses with solid sizing.

  • H&M — For everyday EDikted-style basics — ribbed co-ords, simple crop tops, knit sets — H&M is consistent, affordable and excellent for basics you'll actually reach for daily.

  • Zara — If you want the trend piece but slightly more elevated fabrication, Zara consistently delivers. Their faux leather and satin finishes in particular are noticeably better quality for only marginally more spend.

  • All Saints — For those who like EDikted's edgier, darker aesthetic but want something built to last. Their leather-look pieces and structured co-ords have a much longer shelf life in the wardrobe.

  • Mango — Brilliant for the more refined end of Y2K styling — think low-rise trousers, slinky tops and wide-leg denim with noticeably better drape and finish than most fast fashion equivalents.

INDEPENDENT PICKS I LOVE

  • Motel Rocks — A UK independent brand that shares so much DNA with EDikted it's almost uncanny. Festival-ready, Y2K-influenced, affordable, and genuinely fun. Their printed mini dresses and co-ords are iconic for a reason, and sizing is more consistent than EDikted across the board.

  • Damson Madder — If you love EDikted's playful sensibility but want something more considered and ethically produced, Damson Madder is your brand. A brilliant British indie label with a gorgeous aesthetic, great fit, and clothes you'll genuinely keep for years.

PREMIUM OPTIONS

  • Sandro — For elevated takes on the French-cool, Y2K-adjacent aesthetic. The quality and fit are exceptional.

  • Réalisation Par — Their slinky slip dresses and printed styles are the grown-up version of EDikted's party aesthetic. Investment pieces done beautifully.

LUXURY & DESIGNER

  • Jacquemus — If you love EDikted's flirty, skin-baring cuts and Mediterranean sensibility, Jacquemus is the luxury equivalent. Obviously a completely different price point, but the inspiration is clearly there.

  • Coperni — For the fashion-forward shopper who wants designer credibility alongside that edgy, body-conscious aesthetic. Trend-led but timeless in execution.
