Evisu sizing runs small — particularly in women's styles — and you should expect to go up at least one size from your usual UK label, sometimes two, especially in jeans and anything made with the brand's signature raw selvedge denim. This is a Japanese heritage brand calibrated to Japanese sizing conventions, and if you go in expecting it to behave like your Levi's or your Zara, you're setting yourself up for a very expensive return.

I have a deep, slightly obsessive respect for Evisu. Founded in Osaka in 1991, it's one of the original premium Japanese denim houses — the brand that essentially kicked off the global appetite for selvedge denim and hand-crafted jeans before most people knew what selvedge even meant. How to Size for Evisu — By Category

Jeans — signature selvedge & raw denim: Size up by one to two sizes as standard. If you're a UK 10 (roughly a 28" waist), you'll likely need a 29" or 30" in Evisu raw denim once shrinkage is factored in. The waist and thigh are the tightest points; the leg can be more generous depending on cut.
Jeans — washed & stretch styles: These are somewhat more forgiving but still run small. I'd still recommend sizing up by one as your starting point, particularly if you're fuller through the hip.

Citizens of Humanity — Another premium denim brand worth serious consideration. The fit across their women's range is outstanding — particularly in wide-leg and barrel styles — and sizing is reliable and generous.
Calvin Klein — Their jeans are an Evisu alternative with serious heritage of their own. Classic, refined, and consistently sized. The premium CK denim range is particularly strong right now.

Luxury & designer:

Dsquared2 — Canadian-Italian label that shares Evisu's love of heavily crafted, statement denim. Bold, unapologetic and genuinely excellent quality. Sizing runs small so the same rules apply.
Amiri — For those who want Japanese-influenced craft with a Californian rock-and-roll edge. Extraordinarily well-made and sized in US inches like Evisu. Size up here too.
