What Is Sizing Like at Klass?

Klass runs true to standard UK sizing — and if anything, it leans slightly generous, particularly in stretch fabrics. It’s one of those rare brands where you can order your usual size with genuine confidence and the clothes will actually fit the way you expect them to. I wish I could say that about more brands, frankly.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Klass. There’s something refreshingly honest about a brand that just gets on with the job of making clothes that fit real women properly. I was standing in a Klass concession a couple of years ago, running late for a hen do, desperately needing something that looked pulled-together without being fussy. I grabbed a printed wrap-style midi dress in my usual size, tried it on in approximately three minutes, and walked out with it. Wore it to the event. Got compliments. That’s the Klass experience in a nutshell — unfussy, reliable, and consistently flattering.

The Basics: What Sizing Does Klass Use?

Klass uses standard UK sizing and covers a really solid size range, from a UK 10 right through to a UK 22. That’s a genuinely inclusive range, and the brand designs with that full breadth in mind rather than just scaling up from a size 10 as an afterthought. The proportions work across the range, which makes a real difference when you’re shopping at either end of the size spectrum.

The brand also builds a “relaxed fit” approach into its garment design. In plain English, that means there’s a little more ease built in than you’d get from, say, a Zara bodycon dress. This isn’t a criticism — it’s a deliberate design choice that makes the clothes comfortable and flattering across a wide range of body shapes. Klass knows its customer, and designs accordingly.

Here’s a rough guide to how Klass sizing maps to body measurements:

UK SizeBust (cm)Waist (cm)Hip (cm)1083–8666–6891–941288–9171–7396–991493–9676–78101–1041698–10181–83106–10918103–10686–88111–11420108–11291–94116–11922114–11897–100122–125

Always check against your actual centimetre measurements rather than relying solely on the number. Klass does acknowledge on its size guide that there may be some variation between styles — more on that below.

Does Klass Run True to Size?

For the most part, yes — and it’s one of the more consistent brands I’ve come across at this price point. The majority of customers report ordering their usual UK size and being happy with the fit. Blouses, tops and dresses in jersey or stretch fabrics are particularly reliable. Klass regularly uses comfortable, forgiving fabrics — stretch jersey, chiffon, and soft wovens — that make the fit more accommodating by nature.

The one area where you might notice a bit of variation is knitwear. A handful of reviewers have flagged that sizing across knitwear and cardigans can be a little inconsistent — one jumper might be a generous medium, another feels more like a small. It’s not a dealbreaker by any means, but it’s worth reading the individual product reviews before ordering knitwear specifically.

Sizing by Garment Type

  • Dresses: Generally true to size and often forgiving thanks to built-in stretch, elasticated panels, and ruching at the waist. Midi and knee-length styles are particularly well-cut. Order your usual size with confidence.

  • Tops & blouses: True to size, with a comfortable, non-clingy fit through the arms and bust. Side vents and stretch linings feature regularly, giving extra ease without looking baggy. Great for fuller busts and broader shoulders.

  • Knitwear: Mostly true to size, but check individual product reviews as there can be variation across different styles. If you’re between sizes in a non-stretch knit, size up.

  • Trousers & skirts: True to size. Many styles feature elasticated waistbands and mid-rise cuts, which makes them brilliant for all body types. Tapered and wide-leg options fit generously through the hip and thigh.

  • Occasionwear & structured pieces: Stick to your usual size. For anything with a zip closure — structured dresses in particular — it’s worth going up one size if you’re between sizes, as zipped bodices have less give than stretch styles.

Who Is Klass For?

Klass has been dressing women brilliantly for over 30 years, and it’s built a genuinely loyal following — particularly among women who want stylish, well-made clothes that don’t require an awkward size negotiation every time they order. The brand is headquartered in the north-west of England and operates over 160 stores across the UK, including concessions in independent department stores and standalone shops. It’s very much a real-women brand, and that comes through in the design.

The aesthetic is smart-casual to occasion, with a lot of flattering prints, easy layers, and classic silhouettes. It’s not trying to be a trend-chasing fast fashion brand — it’s trying to make you look put-together and feel comfortable, which for my money is a far better goal. If you’re looking for effortless wardrobe staples that actually last, Klass consistently delivers.

My Top Tips for Shopping Klass Online

Post Image

  • Order your usual UK size in most categories — you’ll almost certainly be right.

  • For knitwear, scroll through the individual product reviews before ordering — sizing can vary slightly across different styles.

  • For zipped, structured dresses, go up one size if you’re between sizes — the boning and fabric tension means less give than jersey styles.

  • Take advantage of the “how other customers said it fits” indicator at the top of each product page on the Klass website — it’s genuinely useful, especially for less familiar styles.

  • Check the fabric composition. Stretch jersey and chiffon styles have more flexibility; stiff woven fabrics without lining may feel snugger across the arms and bust, so bear that in mind.
