What is Sizing Like at L'Agence?

L'Agence runs true to size overall, but — and it's an important but — the brand uses US sizing, cuts for a slim and sleek silhouette, and its denim in particular runs at least half a size to a full size small. If you're shopping from the UK, you'll need to convert up (a US 6 is a UK 10, for reference), and if you're between sizes, I'd generally recommend going up in anything fitted.
I remember the first time I ordered an L'Agence silk blouse. I was mid-size between a small and a medium, went with my instinct and chose the small, and spent the next three days trying to convince myself it was "relaxed tailoring" when actually it was just... tight. Lesson learned. Go up. Always go up.
Who is L'Agence?
Founded in Los Angeles in 2008, L'Agence has built an enviable reputation as one of those under-the-radar luxury brands that women who actually know fashion wear on repeat. Think buttery silk camisoles, perfectly cut wide-leg trousers, and elevated denim that holds its shape beautifully. It sits in that coveted space between contemporary and designer — high-quality construction, clean lines, sophisticated colour palettes, and a price point that reflects the craftsmanship. It's the kind of brand Vogue editors quietly swear by.
L'Agence Size Conversion Table
L'Agence uses US sizing exclusively. Here's how that maps to UK and EU sizing:

💡 Stylist tip: L'Agence runs on US sizing, which sits approximately 4 sizes above UK sizing. A US 6 = UK 10. When in doubt, measure your bust, waist and hips and cross-reference with the brand's size guide — their measurements are quite specific.
Sizing by Garment Type
Denim & Jeans
This is where L'Agence catches most people out. Their denim — including the hugely popular Marguerite high-rise straight and the Chrissy trim bootcut — cuts small through the waist and hip. The fabric has minimal stretch, so you don't get the same give you might with a denim-elastane blend. I recommend sizing up one full size, especially if you're between sizes. If you're a UK 12 and typically buy a 30 waist in denim, go for a 31 or even 32. The waistband will still look sharp — it won't gap — and you'll actually be able to breathe after lunch.
Marguerite High-Rise Straight — size up 1
Chrissy Trim Bootcut — size up 1
Sada High-Rise Cigarette — size up 1; cuts slim through the thigh
Alexia High-Rise Skinny — true to size for most, but size up if between
Silk Blouses & Tops
L'Agence's silk blouses are genuinely stunning — and genuinely slim cut. The Dani long-sleeve blouse and the Rosario satin blouse are both designed to skim the body closely. If you prefer a looser, more relaxed fit (which actually looks incredibly chic with their trousers, for what it's worth), go up one size. If you like things fitted, stick with your usual. Bust measurement is the most important factor here — these blouses don't have much ease built in.
Dani Satin Blouse — slim through the chest; size up if fuller busted
Rosario Draped Top — runs true, good drape through the torso
Henri V-Neck Tee — true to size, stretchy jersey fabric
Trousers & Wide-Leg Styles

Their tailored trousers and wide-leg styles are some of the best on the market at this price point. The fit is structured, the waist is high, and the leg drapes beautifully. These generally run true to size, but I'd note that the leg length comes up long — ideal if you're 5'7" or taller, but if you're petite, expect to have them altered. Worth every penny of the tailor's bill, honestly.
Wren Pleated Wide-Leg — true to size, generous through hip and leg
Reed Straight-Leg — true to size; note the long inseam
Marilyn Straight-Leg Crop — ideal for petites; still long on a 5'4" frame
Blazers & Outerwear
L'Agence blazers are impeccably cut and run true to size. If you plan to wear a blouse or jumper underneath, go up one size — these are structured and not designed for volume underneath. The shoulder seam placement is precise, and getting that right is everything with a tailored blazer.
Piazza Double-Breasted Blazer — true to size, but size up to layer
Thea Collarless Blazer — true to size; elegant, minimal structure
Best High Street Alternatives to L'Agence
L'Agence is an investment — there's no getting around it. But the good news is there are some genuinely brilliant high street and mid-range brands that capture that same polished, effortless aesthetic. Here's where I'd head:
Reiss — Probably the closest high street match for L'Agence's tailored sensibility. Their wide-leg trousers and blazers are consistently excellent and cut beautifully.
Whistles — Brilliant for elevated basics and silk-feel blouses with a clean, understated finish. A solid alternative to L'Agence's tops.
Me&Em — A favourite of mine for effortless, well-cut pieces. Their trousers and knitwear especially are outstanding quality for the price.
Massimo Dutti — Consistently underrated. Excellent for slim-cut tailoring and silk blouses that genuinely look expensive.
Cos — If it's the architectural, minimal silhouette of L'Agence you're after, COS nails it at a fraction of the price.
Jigsaw — Quietly brilliant for grown-up, polished wardrobe essentials. Great denim and elevated occasionwear.
LK Bennett — Particularly good for occasion-ready blouses, tailored separates, and occasion dressing that sits in that same smart-luxe space.
Mint Velvet — Affordable and stylish with a relaxed-luxe feel; great for those who love L'Agence's easy, wearable pieces.
Two Independent Brands Worth Knowing
I always like to shine a light on a couple of labels you might not have come across yet — these two are well worth bookmarking:
Rohe — A Dutch luxury brand making incredibly refined minimal separates that sit directly in the same lane as L'Agence. Think precise tailoring, muted tones, and exceptional fabric. Stocked at Mytheresa and Browns.
Nué Notes — A Scandinavian label with a loyal following for their elevated everyday pieces — relaxed blazers, silk-touch blouses, and beautifully cut trousers. Under the radar but consistently excellent.
