What Is Sizing Like at Le Kasha?

Le Kasha runs true to size on most styles, but many pieces are intentionally oversized by design — so whether you size up or down depends entirely on the silhouette you're buying. This is one of those brands where reading the individual product description before you order is genuinely essential, and I'll walk you through exactly what you need to know.

I came across Le Kasha on one of those afternoons when you've convinced yourself you're "just browsing" — you know how that goes. I'd been searching for something in pure organic cashmere that wasn't the usual suspects, and there it was: a French brand quietly founded in 1918 that had actually supplied cashmere to Chanel in the 1920s. I mean, if it's good enough for Coco, I'm listening. I ordered the Murano cable-knit sweater and a ribbed vest, and they've both become the kind of pieces I wear on rotation without even thinking about it.

The Le Kasha Sizing System

Le Kasha uses standard European sizing — XS through XL — and the conversions map fairly neatly to UK sizing. Where it gets interesting is the fit. The brand has two distinct camps: styles that are intentionally oversized or even "one size," and styles with a closer, more fitted silhouette. Treating them the same way is where people come unstuck.

My honest sizing advice: if you're between sizes, go down for the fitted styles (Murano, Baleari, ribbed pieces) and trust your usual size for the relaxed-fit styles. For the one-size pieces like the Iowa series, be aware that these genuinely suit a frame of around 5'6"+ to look the way they do on the model. I'm 5'7" and they work for me — but if you're petite, they can swamp you.

Sweaters & Knitwear

This is where Le Kasha really lives. The sweater range splits into a few distinct families:

  • Iowa series — very oversized, one-size, voluminous dropped sleeves. Size down if you can, and know that you'll need height to carry this off without disappearing into it. It's a statement piece, not a layering staple.

  • Murano series — cable-knit with a fitted mock-neck silhouette. This runs close to true to size. It's my personal favourite — structured enough to look polished, soft enough that you forget you're wearing cashmere.

  • Yesou sweater — another intentionally oversized crew-neck with dropped shoulders. Lovely, but again — size down if you want to avoid looking like you've borrowed someone else's jumper.

  • Modenab sweater — a relaxed-fit but not extreme crew-neck. This one is more wearable at your true size. Incredibly soft brushed cashmere.

  • Socotra series — a step back from full-on oversized. Relaxed but not swamping, and better proportioned for more frames. True to size works well here.

Cardigans & Jackets

The Monoca cardigan is Le Kasha's bestselling cardigan and honestly, it earns that title. It's that classic oversized shape with concealed buttons and naturally draped fabric — think "expensive weekend" in cashmere form. It runs slightly large, so your true size gives you the relaxed, elegant drape they intend.

The Mogod cashmere jacket is a heavier, more structured piece with horn buttons and a relaxed fit. Again, true to size — and it layers beautifully over a fine-knit or silk top.

The Cadix double-faced cashmere coat is a full-on investment piece — long, oversized, with a belt. Designed to be worn roomy. I'd go true to size or even size down depending on how you like to wear a coat. It's unisex in its cut, which tells you a lot about the proportions.

Knitwear Skirts & Other Pieces

The Tawi ribbed skirt has an elasticated waistband so it's forgiving across sizes, but the silhouette is straight and full-length. True to size works perfectly. It looks exceptional styled with the matching rib top — that flared ribbed set energy is very now.

For linen pieces (Le Kasha does a summer line too), sizing is generally true to size or slightly relaxed — the brand's ethos is comfort and ease throughout, so there's very little that's cut tight against the body.

Where to Find Comparable Pieces at Different Price Points

Le Kasha sits at the luxury end — sweaters typically range from £400–£800+, coats north of that. If the price point isn't right for you right now, here's where I'd shop for a similar quality-driven, understated knitwear aesthetic:

High street & premium:

  • The White Company — hands down the best high-street cashmere in the UK. Their sizing is true to size, the quality is genuinely impressive for the price, and the colour palette is classic.

  • Cos — brilliant for minimalist knitwear in that relaxed Scandi-meets-Parisian aesthetic. Runs slightly large on the boxy styles, true to size on fitted ones.

  • Me&Em — one of my go-to recommendations for premium British knitwear that punches above its price point. Excellent fit, great colours, lasts for years.

  • Massimo Dutti — their knit collection is consistently underrated. Good quality merino and cashmere blends at a mid-market price. True to size across the board.

  • Whistles — a reliable choice for well-cut knits with a contemporary edge. Great for the transitional season.

  • Jigsaw — perennially good for quality knitwear. Their colour stories are always considered and they understand the British wardrobe well.

  • Reiss — more structured and city-ready, but their fine-knit range is excellent for a polished, streamlined look at a fraction of the Le Kasha price.

  • M&S — don't sleep on the M&S cashmere range. Their pure cashmere jumpers have had genuine rave reviews from stylist communities and cost a fraction of luxury alternatives. Sizing is true to size.

Independent & niche picks:

  • Brora — a Scottish heritage cashmere brand that's been doing the real thing quietly for decades. Beautiful quality, classic colourways, and a warmth-to-price ratio that makes Le Kasha look like the expensive cousin. Their sizing runs true to size.

  • Oyuna — a London-based sustainable cashmere label using Mongolian cashmere and natural dyes. Genuinely beautiful, considered pieces with a more directional aesthetic than your classic crew-neck. An excellent find for those who want luxury-quality at a slightly lower entry point.
