What Is Sizing Like at Le Kasha clothing?

Le Kasha runs large, and that's entirely deliberate. This is a French organic cashmere house built on relaxed, drapey, oversized silhouettes, and a good chunk of its signature knitwear is actually cut as one-size-fits-all. So if you're used to ordering a neat size 10 and expecting a neat size 10, Le Kasha will surprise you. The numbered range is generous, the cut is roomy, and the whole point of the brand is ease rather than structure. Below I'll walk you through exactly what to expect before you part with serious money.

The Quick Answer on Le Kasha Fit

Le Kasha's standard womenswear runs from XS through to L, roughly spanning a UK 8 to a UK 14. But here's the bit people miss: the brand was relaunched around the idea of fluid, travel-friendly cashmere, and the silhouettes lean long, loose and softly draped. Many of the most iconic pieces, like the cardigans and chunkier jumpers, are made in a single one-size cut designed to sit oversized on almost everyone.

  • Numbered pieces tend to be true to size but cut generously, so there's plenty of room through the body.

  • One-size pieces (a lot of the hero knits) are deliberately voluminous and look best with deliberate, relaxed styling.

  • Silk and linen pieces run long and lightweight, with an almost loungewear feel, so factor in the extra length.

Where I'd Be Careful

I'll be honest with you, because that's the only way I know how to do this. The one-size oversized knits are gorgeous, but they have a height bias. The brand's own model is around 6ft and wearing a medium, which tells you everything. If you're petite, the most voluminous styles (think the dramatic loose-hem jumpers with the big sleeves) can genuinely swamp you rather than drape you.

I learned this the hard way years ago with a different oversized cashmere piece, not Le Kasha, that looked like sculptural heaven on the model and like I'd borrowed my husband's jumper on me. At 5ft 4in, I now know the trick: with Le Kasha, lean towards the styles described as relaxed rather than full one-size oversized, and balance the volume with something fitted underneath or a slim trouser below. That's the difference between looking expensively undone and looking lost.

My Styling Advice for Le Kasha

  • Anchor the volume. An oversized cashmere jumper wants a straight-leg or slim trouser, never more volume on the bottom.

  • Belt the cardigans. The longline robe-style cardigans look incredible cinched at the waist with a tonal belt.

  • Half-tuck the front. A loose hem reads intentional the second you tuck just the front into a high-waisted trouser.

  • If you're between sizes on a numbered piece, size down, not up. The generous cut means the smaller size usually still has ease.

  • Petite? Choose the relaxed lines over the one-size hero knits so the proportions actually work with your frame.

If Le Kasha Isn't Quite Right: Where Else to Shop

Post Image

Le Kasha sits firmly at the luxury end, so if the price or the proportions don't work, here's where I'd send clients for that same relaxed, beautiful-knit feeling, picked specifically for how good their cashmere and drapey knitwear actually is.

High Street

  • Marks & Spencer — genuinely the best-value pure cashmere on the high street, and the cut is forgiving and easy.

  • Uniqlo — its cashmere jumpers are a cult buy for a reason: clean, affordable and reliable year after year.

  • The White Company — soft, luxe-feeling knits and loungewear with that same calm, neutral palette as Le Kasha.

  • Mint Velvet — relaxed, slightly slouchy elevated knitwear that nails the undone-but-polished look.

  • Hush — brilliant for oversized, drapey jumpers if you love the roomy Le Kasha silhouette but want a softer price.

  • Massimo Dutti — the most premium-feeling high street option, with beautifully finished knitwear and lovely fibre quality.

  • Cos — minimalist, architectural oversized knits that share Le Kasha's love of clean lines and volume.

  • Seasalt Cornwall — natural-fibre, easy-wearing knits with a relaxed, lived-in feel.

Premium

  • Brora — Scottish cashmere specialists and, for my money, the obvious step-up pick if you adore Le Kasha's fabric quality.

  • Toast — natural fibres, artful proportions and that quiet, considered aesthetic Le Kasha lovers tend to share.

  • Me&Em — clever, flattering cuts with proper attention to proportion, ideal if oversized usually overwhelms you.

  • Baukjen — sustainable, elegant and relaxed, with a grown-up wardrobe sensibility.

Luxury & Designer

  • Max Mara — the gold standard for relaxed luxury knitwear and camel-toned ease.

  • Totême — Scandinavian minimalism with the same understated, oversized cool.

  • By Malene Birger — elevated, fluid pieces with a slightly more directional edge.

Two Independents Worth Knowing

  • arch4 — a British B-Corp organic cashmere label that's almost a like-for-like in ethos and softness with Le Kasha.

  • Lisa Yang — a Swedish independent doing beautifully relaxed, oversized cashmere that the fashion set quietly obsesses over.
