The short answer on Our Legacy sizing runs true to size and a bit larger

It’s numeric, not S/M/L. Our Legacy uses Italian/European sizing — 44, 46, 48, 50, 52. As a rough translation, 46 is a small, 48 a medium, 50 a large and 52 an XL.
It’s true to size on the number, relaxed in the cut. The pieces aren’t mislabelled — the house aesthetic is just boxy, roomy and long, so garments feel bigger than the number suggests.
Shoulders stay structured even when the body is wide. So don’t panic and size down just because it looks generous online.

Fit by category (the bit that actually matters)

Shirting

Even the classic button-ups run roomy. The Borrowed Shirt and the boxy short-sleeves are properly oversized by design — that’s the signature.
Size to your shoulders, not your belly. Drop a size to slim the torso and the shoulder seams slide halfway down your arm, and the whole thing collapses.
Want the intentional, rumpled look? Take your true numeric size. Want it closer to the body? One down at most — and only on the classic cut, never the Borrowed.

Denim & trousers

The cult denim sits mid-rise or slightly dropped, relaxed and straight through the leg — not skinny, never clingy.
Order your true waist. The variable here is the rise, not the waist. If you’re used to high-rise jeans, measure just above the hip bone so the drop doesn’t catch you out.
They’re made in Italy and Japan, so the measurements are honest — trust the tag on waist, double-check the rise.

Knitwear & tees

Merino knits and tees run true but relaxed — a touch boxy, occasionally cropped, always with a bit of air in them.
Like a trim jumper? Size down one. Layering over a shirt? Stay put and enjoy the room.
