What Is Sizing Like at Represent?

I’ve styled a lot of Represent over the years, both on shoots and on myself, and the thing people get wrong is assuming “oversized” means “size up by default”. It doesn’t. The roominess is already built in.

Heavyweight cotton holds its shape. It won’t cling or sag, which is exactly why the boxy silhouette reads as “considered” rather than “swamped”.
Measurements shift between drops. A medium in one season’s hoodie isn’t always identical to the next. Always check the size chart on the exact product rather than memorising one set of numbers.

Tops, hoodies and sweats

This is where Represent’s character is strongest, and where most people order:

T-shirts: boxy and square, with longer sleeves and a higher neckline. They fall large to size, so for the signature relaxed look, take your usual size. Want it genuinely fitted? Size down — but you’ll lose the squared-off shape that makes it look like Represent in the first place.
Hoodies and sweatshirts: dropped shoulders and a wider body. True to size gives you that relaxed-but-stylish drape. Only size up if you want it properly baggy or plan to layer underneath.
Knitwear and outerwear: same story — slightly oversized, true to size for the intended fit.

Denim and bottoms

Represent’s denim is measured in inches by waist, and the range runs the full spectrum from skinny through to relaxed, baggy and carpenter cuts.

Take your true waist size and choose the leg shape you actually want.
Most styles have a touch of stretch, so if you’re between waists, sizing down is the safer move.
Many trousers and sweatpants have elasticated waistbands, so they’re forgiving — your usual size is right.

The 247 line and footwear

One important exception: the 247 activewear range does not fit like the main collection. It’s cut closer and more athletic, so go true to size for a proper sporty fit rather than treating it like the oversized mainline. For footwear, Represent runs true to size; if you take a half size, check the specific style’s guidance before you commit.

How to approach Represent as a woman

Here’s the bit the men’s size guides skip. Represent’s sizing is essentially unisex, cut on a men’s block, so if you’re shopping it as womenswear — which plenty of us do for that elevated streetwear look — you have two routes:

For the intended oversized look: size down one to two from the men’s equivalent, or pick the smallest size that still gives you the drape you want. An XS or S mainline tee worn loose is a brilliant Sunday-uniform piece.
For a cleaner, more fitted shape: size right down and let the boxy cut do the tailoring for you.

My honest take

A win and a confession. My win: a stone-grey hoodie I bought in my normal size that has become the single most-worn thing I own — relaxed, heavy, and still holding its shape after endless washes. My fail: I once ordered a mainline tee true to size expecting something neat to tuck into tailored trousers, and it arrived as a glorious boxy tent. Lovely piece, wrong brief. Now I size down on the tees when I want fitted, and happily size up when I want that off-duty drape. Lesson learned the expensive way.
