What Is Sizing Like at Ro&Zo clothing?

The short version: Ro&Zo runs broadly true to size across most of its range, so your usual UK size is the right place to start — but there are a few style-specific quirks (knits and a couple of the trouser cuts) that are worth knowing before you click buy. I’ve styled and worn plenty of Ro&Zo over the years, so let me save you the returns faff and walk you through exactly how it fits.

So, is Ro&Zo true to size?

Yes, for the vast majority of the range. Ro&Zo is a London label founded by two women (Rosie and Zoe, hence the name) and built around feminine, print-led occasion dressing — think wedding-guest midis, ditsy florals, frills and the kind of dress that gets you stopped at a party. The core dress collection is cut generously and consistently, and the overwhelming feedback from real customers is that their normal size fits beautifully first time.

That said, I never tell a client a brand is “just true to size” and leave it there, because fit lives in the detail. Here’s where it gets nuanced.

Where the fit can catch you out

Dresses (the hero category): True to size. The midi and maxi styles are forgiving through the waist and skim rather than cling, so if you’re between sizes on a structured style, take your usual one. Empire-line and fit-and-flare cuts are especially generous.
Knitwear and jumpers: These run on the larger, slouchier side. If you like a neat fit rather than an oversized one, size down. I learned this the hard way with a cream jumper that swamped me — gorgeous, but I was rolling the cuffs up all night.
Wide-leg and tailored trousers: Roomy through the leg but the waist can sit snug. Go by your waist measurement, not your dress size.
Tops: Reliably true to size, though the occasion/sequin tops can be cut a touch narrow across the back and shoulders — worth checking if you’re broader up top.
Fabric weight: A few of the summer dresses are lighter than the photos suggest. Lovely for a hot day, but factor in a wrap or blazer for a cooler event.

My honest styling take

Ro&Zo sits in that sweet spot where the prints do the heavy lifting, so I always tell people to choose the size that flatters your widest point and let the cut skim everything else. The bust-to-hip ratio matters more here than the number on the label — a classic occasion-dress trap. My biggest win with the brand was a high-neck floral midi for an April wedding: I took my standard size, added gold hoops and a tan block heel, and it photographed brilliantly. My biggest fail? Ignoring my own advice and ordering a jumper in my dress size. Size down on the knits. Trust me.

A note on petite and length

Ro&Zo now does a proper petite range, which is a genuine gift if you’re 5’3” and under — the midis hit at the right point on the leg rather than turning into accidental maxis. If you’re 5’4”–ish you’ll likely sit on the fence between regular and petite; for midi and below, I’d lean petite to keep the proportions clean.
