What Is Sizing Like at Stand Studio?

Stand Studio runs in European sizing (34–44) and fits true to size across most of their range, with a relaxed, slightly oversized silhouette in outerwear and a cleaner, more fitted line through their knitwear and tailoring — if you're between sizes, sizing up will nearly always give you the intended look.
I think I first properly fell for Stand Studio the winter a client turned up to a shoot in their Kaia faux fur coat — you know the one, it became something of an Instagram ubiquity — and I distinctly remember thinking, "that is doing a lot of heavy lifting for a brand I barely knew." That was a few years ago now, and the Swedish label has only gone from strength to strength. They've quietly become one of those brands that stylists reference constantly without making a big song and dance about it. The leather is genuinely good. The faux fur is genuinely covetable. And the whole thing has an ease to it that a lot of brands spend years trying to manufacture and never quite manage.
Founded in Stockholm in 2014 by Christina Lykke and Net-a-Porter veteran Karin Söderlind, Stand Studio sits in that sweet spot between contemporary and luxury — the price point is considered but not stratospheric, and the quality absolutely justifies the spend. The brand specialises in outerwear, leather goods, and knitwear, and has a very clear Scandinavian DNA: clean lines, considered proportions, and a colour palette that runs from warm camel to rich burgundy with a handful of bolder seasonal statements.
How Does the Sizing Work?
Stand Studio uses EU sizing throughout, ranging from 34 to 44, which maps to UK 6 through UK 16. The sizing is broadly consistent with other Scandinavian contemporary labels — think Totême or Acne Studios in terms of how the clothes are proportioned. Here's the full conversion breakdown:

Fit by Garment Type
This is where it gets interesting — and where it's worth paying close attention rather than just defaulting to your usual EU size. Stand Studio's fit does vary meaningfully across categories.
Leather jackets & leather coats: Stand Studio's leather is the brand's calling card, and these pieces are cut with a deliberate relaxed ease. They are designed to be worn slightly oversized — that slightly-too-big-but-in-a-good-way quality is intentional. If you're a true EU 38, your EU 38 in leather will fit but may feel snug through the shoulders. Many women find sizing up one gives the authentic Scandi-oversized look the brand is going for. If you prefer a more fitted silhouette, stay true to size.
Faux fur coats: These are genuinely generous. True to size or even slightly large — the construction has volume built into it by design. I'd stay true to size here unless you are between sizes, in which case size down.
Knitwear: More fitted than the outerwear. Stand Studio's knits tend to follow the body more closely and run true to size. If you like a relaxed knit, size up; if you want it to sit cleanly, your standard EU size will work perfectly.
Blazers & tailoring: True to size with a slightly boxy, Scandi-cut finish. The shoulder tends to sit quite precisely, so if you carry width across the back, check the shoulder measurement before ordering.
Trousers & skirts: Generally true to size. The waistband is well calibrated and the cut is clean without being restrictive. Petite customers may find the leg length on trousers needs taking up.
Dresses: Variable by style — their more relaxed, slip-style dresses run generous; the more structured options are true to size. Always check the specific measurements against your bust and hip, as that's where Stand Studio's more fitted dresses can catch you out.
Key Sizing Tips Before You Order
Shoulder width matters most for outerwear. Stand Studio leather jackets are cut to drape — but if the shoulder seam sits too far off, no amount of Scandi nonchalance will save it. Measure shoulder-to-shoulder and compare to the specific product dimensions on the website.
For leather, decide on your intended silhouette first. Fitted? True to size. That slightly-too-cool, effortless-oversized look? Go up one.
Petite customers: The brand cuts for a longer, Nordic body proportion. Trousers in particular will likely need hemming. Some of the more voluminous coat shapes can overwhelm a shorter frame — try before you buy if you can, or check return policies carefully.
Don't order between sizes without checking specific garment measurements. Stand Studio's product pages include detailed measurements — use them. I always advise checking bust and hips as a minimum before adding to cart.
The leather will soften. If a leather jacket feels just slightly firm across the back when you first try it, it will ease with wear. Factor that in — but don't use it as an excuse to squeeze into a size that's genuinely too small across the shoulders.
Styling Stand Studio — How to Actually Wear It

The temptation with Stand Studio is to go full Scandi-minimalist Instagram and style everything with wide-leg trousers and white trainers. And look — there's a reason that works. But the brand actually has more range than that formula suggests.
Their leather jackets are genuinely brilliant over tailored midi skirts for smart-casual dressing — it's a combination I keep coming back to with clients who want to look polished without looking corporate. The faux fur coats, meanwhile, do extraordinary work over simple jeans and a fine-knit jumper; they are statement pieces that don't actually require much else to land well.
For the knitwear, I'd lean into the ease — wear it slightly tucked at the front, half-tucked into a tailored trouser, and let it do the relaxed-but-considered thing it was designed for. Over-styling Stand Studio tends to miss the point.
High Street & Premium Alternatives to Stand Studio
The Scandi-cool leather jacket and luxurious faux fur coat aesthetic is absolutely achievable at other price points. Here are the brands I'd point you towards:
Mango — Consistently one of the best high street options for leather jackets and faux fur coats. Their leather alternative pieces in particular are remarkably good quality for the price, and the cut has real Scandi energy.
All Saints — If you want genuine leather at a more accessible price point, All Saints delivers. Their biker and leather jacket range is well-established and the quality is solid. Slightly edgier than Stand Studio but the same outerwear DNA.
Zara — Their outerwear range is consistently strong, particularly for faux leather and faux fur pieces that channel Stand Studio's proportions. Worth checking each season as the quality varies by garment.
Anthropologie — A brilliant mid-market option for textured and faux-fur coats with a slightly more individual, less minimal flavour. Good quality and sizing tends to be generous and forgiving.
Ted Baker — For elevated outerwear with strong tailoring and quality fabrication. Their coats in particular sit well in the gap between high street and designer.
Mint Velvet — A reliable British option for relaxed, considered knitwear and outerwear with a similar grown-up, effortless feel to Stand Studio's wardrobe staples.
Banana Republic — Particularly good for leather and faux leather jackets with clean, unfussy lines. Their quality-to-price ratio is excellent and sizing is consistently true to standard EU/UK equivalents.
Hobbs — For Stand Studio's tailored pieces on a more accessible budget. Hobbs does intelligent, well-constructed outerwear that lasts and doesn't shout about itself — very much in the same spirit.
Two Independent Brands Worth Discovering
Deadwood — A Swedish sustainable leather brand making genuinely beautiful jackets from recycled and deadstock leather. If you love Stand Studio's leather work but want something with even stronger ethical credentials and a more individual character, Deadwood is the brand. Sizing runs true to European standard.
Remain Birger Christensen — A Copenhagen-based label with serious fashion credentials and a similarly elevated approach to outerwear and tailoring. Sits slightly higher in price than Stand Studio but shares that same clean Scandinavian confidence. A brilliant discovery if you haven't found it yet.
