What Is Sizing Like at Stone Island Marina? (Menswear)

Like the main line, it's cut on an Italian last, so nine times out of ten you'll want to go one size up from your usual UK fit — particularly in the knitwear and the deck jackets. If you're a true medium on the high street, an M in Marina will feel snug across the chest and short in the body.

The fit, piece by piece

Marina is Stone Island's nautical-leaning capsule — garment-dyed cottons, chunky marine knits, deck jackets, the occasional bold stripe. Gorgeous stuff, but the cut isn't uniform across the range, so it pays to know what you're buying.

Knitwear — The heavy roll-necks and marine crews are the trickiest. They read boxy through the body but are cut narrow across the shoulders, so a lot of men buy the shoulder and end up with a jumper that's tight up top and short in the hem. If you layer, size up.
Overshirts & deck jackets — Slim through the chest with a slightly long sleeve. Fine if you wear them over a tee; a size up if you want a mid-layer underneath.
Garment-dyed cottons — The dyeing process shrinks and firms the fabric, so these come up the truest to size in the whole line. Buy your normal fit here.
Trousers & cargos — Cut for a tapered leg, not a relaxed one. If you're between waist sizes, take the larger — the garment dye tightens after the first wash.

One thing worth flagging: Stone Island labels in EU sizing, and the S/M/L mapping isn't always consistent between a knit and a jacket in the same collection. Don't assume your badge size carries across. I've been caught out by exactly this — bought a Marina crew and a deck jacket in the same "L" on the same day, and the crew fit like an M while the jacket swamped me. Measure, don't guess.

How I'd style it
