What Is Sizing Like at Vero Moda?

I've been styling clients in and out of changing rooms for years, and Vero Moda is one of those brands I genuinely rate for the price — but I've also watched plenty of lovely dresses get sent back simply because someone ordered their "usual" size. The Short Answer on Fit

Vero Moda is part of the Danish Bestseller group, and it carries that Scandi DNA: clean lines, a fitted waist, and a silhouette designed to sit snug rather than skim. The sizing itself is consistent and rarely wildly off — it's the cut that tricks people, not the label. Expect a body-conscious fit through the bust and waist, generous-ish length, and tailoring with very little ease built in.

Why It Fits the Way It Does

Three things are worth knowing before you add to basket:

European sizing. Garments are cut to EU measurements (EU 38 = UK 10). The conversion is straightforward, but EU drafting tends to be slightly narrower through the torso than British sizing.
Close-to-body tailoring. Vero Moda leans into a defined shape. Beautiful on, but it means broader shoulders, a fuller bust or curvier hips will feel the lack of room quicker than in a relaxed high-street brand.
Fabric matters enormously. Stretch blends are forgiving and true to size; rigid cottons, crepes and structured denim are where you'll want to go up.

Tops & blouses: Slim through the chest and shoulders. Size up if your shoulders are broad or you like a little movement.
Jeans & trousers: True to size in stretch denim; size up in rigid styles, which sit firm on the waist. Check the leg length too — they run Short, Regular and Long, so you can avoid the dreaded ankle-flood.
Blazers & jackets: Sharply tailored with limited room. If you plan to layer a chunky knit underneath, go up a size — the armholes are cut neat.
Knitwear: The most forgiving category, generally true to size, with a soft drape that's easy to live in.

Worth knowing: there's a Vero Moda Curve range that extends up to around a UK 26, with its own (more generous) grading — so don't write the brand off if the mainline feels tight.

My Honest Stylist Take

True confession: my own first Vero Moda buy was a black ribbed midi I ordered in my "safe" size for a friend's birthday dinner. It arrived clinging in all the wrong places — I'd completely ignored that ribbed-and-fitted is Vero Moda at its most body-con. The size up was perfect, and I've worn it to death since. Oliver Bonas — distinctive prints and clever seaming; lovely for weddings and work dresses alike.
Mint Velvet — relaxed, elevated everyday pieces with a softer, looser line than Vero Moda.
Whistles — modern minimalist tailoring and midi dresses if you want to trade up without leaving the high street.

Premium

Reiss — sharp, body-skimming tailoring and dresses; the natural step up if you like Vero Moda's clean silhouette but want better fabric.
Ted Baker — feminine, occasion-led designs with structured fits and a touch more polish.

Luxury & Designer

Ganni — the Danish label to know; same Scandi attitude as Vero Moda, with playful prints and a cult following.
