What Is Sizing Like at We Are We Wear Menswear?

We Are We Wear menswear runs true to size, but with a deliberately relaxed, holiday-ready cut. It sits under the ASOS umbrella as an own-brand label, so it follows the standard ASOS men's size chart in alpha sizing (S to XL). The shirts and co-ords are boxy by design, the swim shorts sit true to the waist, and for most men your usual size is the right one. If you want it sharper rather than draped, take it down a size. That's the short version. Here's how I'd actually shop it.
The fit, in plain terms
This is a resort and poolside label first and foremost. The range is built around holiday shirts, matching co-ord sets and swim shorts, and the cut reflects that. It's meant to hang loose in the heat, not cling.
Shirts and camp-collar styles: cut boxy and short-ish in the body for that untucked, open-collar look. Roomy through the chest as standard.
Co-ord sets: the shirt and shorts are designed to be worn easy and unstructured — expect a relaxed rather than tailored line.
Swim shorts: mid-length, true to your waist measurement. No need to overthink these.
Sizing system: S–XL, mapped to the ASOS men's chart. If you know your ASOS size, you know your We Are We Wear size.
How to size it right
Go by your chest for shirts. If you're between sizes and want the intended relaxed drape, take the larger. If you want a cleaner, closer shape, take the smaller.
Go by your waist for swim shorts. They're true to size, so your everyday waist measurement is your friend here.
Mind the shoulders. On the boxier shirts, the shoulder seam can drop past your actual shoulder. That's the look — but if you're broad, it's the thing to check first.
Layering rarely applies. This is warm-weather kit, so you're not sizing up for a jumper underneath.
What to buy, and how to wear it
The sweet spot with this brand is the matching co-ord. A short-sleeved patterned shirt with the shorts to match does a lot of heavy lifting on holiday — it reads considered without any effort. Keep the palette earthy or tonal if bold prints aren't your thing, and let one piece be the loud one. My own win last summer was a plain camp-collar in a washed olive worn open over a white tee with stone linen trousers; photographed well, felt like nothing to wear. Finish with leather sandals or minimal trainers and you're done.
Brands to shop alongside it

If you like the We Are We Wear vibe, here's where I'd spread the net across three price tiers.
HIGH STREET
Mango Man — arguably the best on the high street for holiday shirting and linen co-ords. The cut is a touch sharper than We Are We Wear, so it's my pick if you want relaxed-but-tidy.
River Island — strong on bold resort prints and textured short-sleeve shirts at a keen price. Good for the statement piece in your suitcase.
INDEPENDENT & BOUTIQUE
Percival — London label doing playful cabana-collar shirts with real personality. A step up in fabric and print quality when you want something less high-street.
Far Afield — retro-leaning resort shirts with a lovely, considered camp collar. Cut cleaner than most, and the fabrics feel premium for the money.
Wax London — for textured, grown-up shirts (their crochet and towelling styles especially). Buy here when you want the holiday shirt that also works at home.
DESIGNER & LUXURY
Orlebar Brown — the benchmark for tailored swim shorts and polished resortwear. If you want the swim short that fits like trousers, this is it.
Frescobol Carioca — luxe Brazilian resortwear in beautiful linens and prints. The grown-up end of the co-ord.
Vilebrequin — iconic swim shorts with heritage and staying power. Pricey, but they last and they photograph beautifully.
