What Is Sizing Like at Yeezy? A Menswear Fit Guide

Yeezy runs small on your feet and big on your body. Most Yeezy trainers come up around half a size small, so you'll usually want to go up half a size — sometimes a full size on the chunkier models and the slides. The clothing is the opposite: it's cut deliberately oversized, so unless you want to swim in it, you often size down one, occasionally two.

Yeezy trainers: nearly always size up

Yeezy footwear was built on adidas lasts, and as a rule it fits about half a size small with a fairly narrow toe box. How much you size up depends on the silhouette:

350 V1 — true to size. The one Yeezy that behaves.
350 V2 — go half a size up. The toe box is narrow and the Primeknit is snug out of the box, though it stretches a little with wear. Wide feet, go a full size.
380 — roughly true to size; nudge up half a size if you're between sizes.
500 — close to true to size, though plenty of people go up half a size for comfort.
700 V1 (Wave Runner) — snug but true to size; half a size up if your feet are wide.
700 V2 — true to size.
700 V3 — runs a full size small. Size up.
450 — half a size up.
Foam Runner — whole sizes only and fits snug, so round up if you're normally a half size.
Slides — the big offender. They run a full size small and only come in whole sizes, so size up. Half a size is not enough.
Desert Boot — a full size small. Size up.

I learned the trainer rule the hard way. My first pair of 350 V2s came from a Saturday-morning drop, bought true to size in a panic before they sold out. By lunch my toes were pinned against the front and I ended up handing them to my brother. Two minutes measuring my foot would have saved me the money.

Yeezy clothing: oversized on purpose

The apparel — the old Seasons, YZY Gap, and the current YZY drops — is cut boxy, long and roomy by design. A few things to know:

The newer YZY pieces often use numeric sizing (1, 2, 3…) rather than S/M/L, which throws people. A "2" is not automatically your medium.
Take your true size for the intended dropped-shoulder, draped look.
Size down one for a semi-fitted cut, and up to two on tees and hoodies if you want something close to a normal fit.
Outerwear and heavier pieces are the most oversized, so size down. Workwear shirts sit closer to true.

Done right, the volume is the whole point. I recently put a client in a true-to-size YZY Gap hoodie over slim tapered trousers and clean white trainers — the boxy weight up top balanced the narrow leg and it looked far more expensive than the £40 he paid. Buying Yeezy in 2026

Worth knowing before you shop: the adidas partnership has ended, so most of the classic models — 350, 500, 700 — now live on the resale market via StockX, Grailed, eBay and GOAT. Sizes and half-sizes vary from seller to seller and fakes are common, so stick to platforms with proper authentication. Newer YZY apparel sells direct and unpredictably. The upshot is that you often can't nip into a shop and try before you buy, which makes knowing your exact size more important than it's ever been.

High street

COS — Scandi-minimal, boxy heavyweight tees and relaxed tailoring in exactly that muted Yeezy palette. Sizing is consistent and true to size, so it's a safe swap.
Uniqlo (U and +J) — heavyweight boxy tees and oversized outerwear for pocket money. True to size with a relaxed cut; the closest thing to Yeezy basics on the high street.
Arket — neutral heavyweight cotton and chunky knits in that clean off-white world. Roomy but predictable, and true to size.

Independent / boutique

Cole Buxton — a British independent doing heavyweight monochrome streetwear that's about as Yeezy-adjacent as it gets. Cut oversized, so size down if you want it cleaner.
Represent — the Manchester label; elevated boxy tees, relaxed denim and strong outerwear. Runs oversized-to-true, so take your normal size for the intended drape. Their denim in particular is excellent — more in my best men's jeans guide.
Fear of God Essentials — the go-to Yeezy alternative: muted, drapey basics at an accessible price. Deliberately oversized, so size down one for a sharper fit.

Designer / luxury

Fear of God — Jerry Lorenzo's main line is the spiritual heir to the Yeezy look; elevated, draped and long. True to size for that intended relaxed line.
Rick Owens — the original influence on this whole world. Dramatic, draped and dark, cut long and oversized on purpose; size down if you want less drama.
Balenciaga — the house that actually engineered YZY Gap. Oversized luxury streetwear that runs large, so size down one, especially on hoodies and outerwear.
