What Is Sizing Like At Yours?

Yours Clothing runs UK sizes 14 to 40, with garments cut in size pairs (14/16, 18/20, 22/24 and so on) that fit slightly generously across the bust, waist and hip — so if you sit at the smaller number of your pair, you'll almost always want to size down rather than up. Yours is the UK's leading plus-size specialist, and their in-house team fits every garment on actual plus-size bodies rather than grading up from a sample 10. After years of styling clients across the full size spectrum, I can tell you that's a huge tell — the cut, grading and proportions genuinely work for curves, rather than fighting them. But the sizing system has quirks that catch first-time shoppers out every single time, so here's everything I've learned the hard way.
How Yours sizing actually works
Core range: UK 14 to 40 across most lines — one of the broadest spans on the high street.
Sub-brands: Limited Collection, Yours London (occasionwear) and Bump It Up Maternity all run 14-32; the main Yours and Curve lines push all the way to 40.
Footwear: UK 3-13 in regular, wide and extra-wide (EEE) fits — a quiet hero feature most retailers don't touch.
Lingerie: Extended band and cup sizing, with shapewear that actually does what it says on the label.
The size-pair quirk no one explains
The most important thing to understand about Yours is the size-pair system. Many pieces are graded to fit two sizes at once — a 14/16 piece is cut to sit comfortably on both. In practice that means there's a bit of give built in. If you're a confirmed 14, a 14/16 will feel slightly oversized through the bust and waist; if you're a confirmed 16, the same piece will feel close to your real measurements. The fix: if you sit at the smaller number in your pair, size down to the pair below. If you sit at the higher, stick with your pair.
Honest stylist verdict — fit by garment type
Dresses: Generous, especially smock and tea-dress shapes. I styled a client for a daytime wedding last spring in a Yours floral midi and we had to add a tan belt to define her waist — without it she looked swamped, with it she looked properly elegant. Belt your smocks. Always.
Jeans & trousers: True to size in most styles, with a slight tendency to run roomy at the waistband on stretch denim. Hem length is reliably long enough for taller women — a relief.
Tops & blouses: This is where reviewers flag the most inconsistency. Bust grading varies between styles. Read the size note on each individual product page, not just the general guide.
Knitwear: Soft, longline, bum-covering. A win.
Coats & outerwear: Cut for proper curves at the bust and shoulder, with sleeves you can actually fit a chunky jumper underneath.
Shoes: The wide-fit options are the real reason I keep recommending Yours to clients with wide feet — EEE in mainstream shapes is almost unheard of elsewhere.
My fashion fail (so you don't repeat it)

A few years back I ordered three Yours pieces in 16/18 for a client without checking each individual style note — a smock dress, a fitted shift, and a wrap top. The smock swamped her, the shift was perfect, and the wrap top wouldn't close across the bust. Three identical "16/18" labels, three completely different fits. Lesson learned: always read the garment-specific size note, even within the same size pair. Yours' style descriptions are detailed for a reason.
Where else to shop if Yours isn't quite right
If you love the inclusivity and price point but want different cuts or aesthetics, here are my honest stylist picks. Every one of these does plus-size genuinely well, not as a token afterthought.
