Why I Stopped Wearing Big Logos

In my early 20's, I used to wear T-shirts with logos plastered across the front. Big, bold branding—like I wanted everyone to know exactly what I spent money on. But somewhere along the line, it stopped feeling like style and started feeling like shouting. And honestly? I didn’t like what it said about me.
The Problem With Loud Logos
It doesn’t matter if it’s a luxury label or a high street one—if the logo takes centre stage, the outfit usually takes a backseat. And the message? “Look at what I’m wearing. Look at what I could afford.” That might sound harsh, but that’s what it comes off as—whether it’s intentional or not.
The truth is, big logos rarely make a piece better. The fit, the cut, the fabric—none of that changes just because a brand is printed across the chest in size 72 font. If anything, you start wearing the logo instead of the clothes. And I’d rather wear something that feels good, not something I’m constantly adjusting or explaining.
I’d Rather Whisper Quality
The best T-shirts I own don’t say anything. No logos, no slogans, no brand name in sight. But you can feel the difference: the weight of the fabric, the stitching, the way the neckline sits after five washes. It’s a quiet kind of confidence—one that doesn’t need a name tag.
Want to Upgrade Without the Billboard Vibes?
Here’s where I go for clean, high-quality basics that don’t shout:
High Street
Uniqlo – Their U and Supima tees are better than most “designer” versions
Arket – No branding, just solid fit and feel
COS – Modern shapes, heavyweight cotton, zero logos
Premium
Reiss – Subtle textures and sleek cuts that do the talking
Percival – Clean, simple, with just enough personality
Wax London – Great colour options, blank fronts
Designer
Sunspel – Classic, premium, and totally anonymous
ASKET – Transparent, ethical, unbranded quality
Represent Blanks – For a heavier feel, minus the shouty logo
How I Found My Fit
Even with basics, the wrong fit ruins the whole point. I used Tellar.co.uk to figure out what actually worked for my frame. I entered my chest and waist, picked a couple brands I already wore, and it gave me accurate size suggestions for all the rest.

Final Thought
Wearing a big logo doesn’t make you stylish. It just makes you... visible. And that’s not always the same thing. These days, I’d rather wear something I love, in a fit that actually works for me, without announcing it to the world. That’s confidence. That’s style.
